Text Broker - Get Paid For Writing

What is Textbroker?
I came across textbroker by accident. The name tells it all, textbroker is a broker that puts together authors and clients in need of content.
They have a pretty neat piece of software that automates a lot of the daily processes. The system works like this.
As an Author You Need To:
- Register (simple) then choose you password.
- You will be asked for a 300-350 word sample article.
- You will be rated (1-5)
- Once approved, you go to assignments/show orders and choose a category your familiar with.
- Review the requests and follow the requesters instructions.
- The requester can accept, reject or ask for a revision of your article.
- When accepted, the payment is put into your account with textbroker.
- Payment requests ($10.00 min) are processed on the 6th and 20th of each month. Then dispersed to your paypal account the next day.
- Your articles will be reviewed by a human proof reader from textbroker in the future. This is an ongoing verification of your work.
You will need to send in a W9 form before they will pay out any earnings. Now that you know what textbroker is, how much can you make?
How Much Can You Make With Textbroker?
Don't plan on getting rich with this system, but $300.00 to $600.00 a month is realistic if you are consistent.
If you are a average to good writer the chances are you will be rated a 2 or 3. A 4 rating is an expert and a 5 rating is considered professional.
As a 3 rated writer the pay is a penny per word. Don't let this discourage you, a lot of the articles requested are 300-500 words. So lets say $4.00 per article (400 words) x 5 articles a day = $600.00 a month. To be realistic it is hard to write at this pace 7 days a week for the month. The other factor is you may not always find requests for the categories you want to write for.
There have been requests for 100 word snippets on subjects I knew nothing about. It only took a few minuets to read enough information to complete the snippet. It was an easy buck or two for a quick snippet and it was fun to do.
If you treat textbrokers as a learning experience, a place to expand your article writing skills, then you'll have the right mindset to earn some decent money in the process. The next question you would ask is, how legitimate is this textbroker place?

Is Textbroker Legitimate?
The last question we have to answer is, is textbroker a legitimate system?
From all indications it is. I have submitted about 30 articles and all were accepted and paid. The interesting thing is come to find out their U.S. office is only five miles from my house. So how better to judge the operation than to visit their office.
I dropped off my W9 form at the office and took that opportunity to ask some questions. I was told that textbroker was started in 2005 originating out of Germany. They then opened this office in 2008 for the U.S. operations.
There are six employees who basically look at the articles after the requester accepts them. They also evaluate the new authors and assign them a ranking. It was also mentioned that they will soon be opening a office in France. So, seeing the office and talking to the manager at textbroker, it certainly looks like a legitimate business.
Conclusion
I know a penny a word is not much, but if you accept the task consider this. Their system has a feature where if a requester wants to hire you exclusively, the default fee is 1.5 cents per word, that's a 50% raise. This can be negotiated higher if you desire.
If you are raised to a level 4 the fee is 1.4 cents per word. I believe level 5 is a whole different pay scale which is significantly above the level 4. So there are some incentives to provide good quality work at the lower levels.
The main thing is the system is easy to use. The requester has to have the money in their account before requests are logged. Once your article is approved the transfer of funds is instantaneous. There are no surprises, the requester logs what they want like keywords to be used and how many times to use them. The price is set upfront so if you choose to accept the assignment you know how much you will get paid. There is no bidding, waiting a week to see if you won the bid and then having another week pass while it's approved.
If you're looking for a few hundred bucks a month from writing, a place where you can do it on your own time and as it looks to me a legitimate outfit, then textbroker is worth a look. I'll be doing my first transfer from my textbroker account into my paypal account, if this goes smoothly then it's a cool system to make a few bucks with.

Definitely trying textbroker out! Thanks :)
Thanks for the article rb11. I had read another article on here last night (can't find it now) about a person who made a great deal of money between several different sites, textbroker being the highest pay out. I have decided that I will give them a try, after all writing is what I enjoy doing! Thanks.
What you didnt tell everyone is that it is the biggest plagerism companies that exist. It specifically states not to submit copied work, however in the instructions from some of the clients they are asking to copy what you write and sign their name to it like they wrote it which is PLAGERISM AND IS ILLEGAL.
No when I write a book and get paid for it I do not relinquish my rights to my work it is my work and all rights are reserved as such. Just because someone pays you for your work does not mean you give up the rights to your work. When someone asks you to write and article and does not give the author credit whether they pay you or not they are plagerizing your work.

Nice article you have here rb11. This is one legitimate and white hat move for internet marketing or even a living. If one just have a good background in writing and also the patience to do so, then it could be just a good profession.
